i actually remember the day the got this cup from starbucks. it was full of a vanilla chai tea latte. nonetheless, two years after drinking that latte, this n’dour quote still holds relevance today.

and though i may have found a more eloquent way to word that, i feel that jay-z (or eminem) adequately rapped that.

tonight i figured out what my issue has been for some time. stress. stress from a facet of arenas, but all connecting to the idea of force. force to become successful. force to become successful in the eyes of my peers. force to become successful in the eyes of my professors. force, force, force.

it seems that for sometime i have forced my writing as well, through the outlets of my previous blog or through 5STARHIPHOP.com, which i currently still write for.

but tonight, as i procrastinate on writing a paper covering early greek warfare, i began to wonder why i force myself to do what others feel i should do. with that thought, i had the urge to rediscover my love for writing, as it is one of the most freeing hobbies that i take part of, and to revamp this blog. however, the format will be less about what i am used to and more about what i choose to write on, along with much more. most of my inspiration comes from a fellow writer and her blog. so, thank her.
